Provincial police have confirmed that human remains found last week on a property near Smiths Falls are those of Robbie Thomson , the Smiths Falls man who went missing just over two years ago.

The Ontario Provincial Police last week reported that Thomson’s disappearance is now considered a homicide, and charged three people with first-degree murder.

Last Thursday, OPP officers carrying out a search warrant at a residence on Kelly Jordan Road, northeast of Smiths Falls, found human remains on the property.

“The post-mortem examination confirmed that the remains are those of Robbie Thomson, who was reported missing in October 2023,” OPP reported Wednesday afternoon.
