BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Bismarck State College announced the return of the Mystics’ football program on Wednesday afternoon. The college, which recently moved from a NAIA two-year athletic program to a four-year program, will kick off a new football season in fall 2027.
The football program previously existed from 1946 to 1962, and then again from 1971 to 1985, before a 40-year break.
“This is a milestone moment for our athletic department and for the future of our college. We’re restoring a tradition that meant so much to our campus and will give our students, alumni and fans another team to rally behind on the weekends,” said Bismarck State Athletic Director and former Mystics’ athlete Myron Schulz in a statement.
