LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service will provide a partial payment to SNAP recipients in Michigan.

According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the federal government indicated it will reduce SNAP allotments to 50% of the promised benefits in November.

MDHHS says the reduction in benefits is due to the federal government shutdown.
