Amina Brown broke a scoreless tie in the 70th minute and added a big insurance goal four minutes later as ninth-seeded Glassboro defeated eighth-seeded Pitman 2-0 in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 1 playoffs in Pitman.

The Bulldogs (10-8) avenged a 3-2 loss to Pitman from the regular season and knocked off the Panthers in the first round of the playoffs for the second year in a row.

Just like last fall, Glassboro will now face Tri-County Diamond rival Schalick, the top seed, in the quarterfinals. The Cougars were seeded second last year when they dropped a 1-0 game to the Bulldogs.

Schalick won both of this year’s regular-season matchups, 8-0 and 2-0.

Brown increased her season goal total to 32. Miranda Dillard assisted on the game-winner.
