WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) - The wind will howl through the night from the west at 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55mph expected. The strong west/northwest winds tonight will accompany more rain showers across the region.
The wind persists behind the showers into Thursday morning, but after that there is more in the way of quiet weather on Thursday before the rinse-and-repeat of yet more active/not active weather pattern Friday and into the weekend.
After the weekend, a colder weather pattern develops early next week and the chill will be noticeable. We will drop into the upper-30s to low-40s for at least the first part of the week and we will likely see some light snow for the first time this season.
