SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) - As the government shutdown drags on, more local families are feeling the strain. The Brightside Project is stepping up, offering food and hot meals to children and families who might otherwise go without.
Inside The Brightside Project Wednesday, volunteers filled around 400 bags of food -- easy meals and snacks for kids whose families are struggling through the government shutdown. Each one represents one less child that will go hungry in our community. Two hundred were gone within the first hour.
