FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed in a crash near northeast Columbus Wednesday night, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened in the 2400 block of Reynoldsburg New Albany Road in Jefferson Township around 10:35 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was heading south on Reynoldsburg New Albany Road when they went off the west side of the road. The vehicle traveled through a ditch, struck a driveway embankment and rolled over on its roof.

The driver was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead at 11:02 p.m. Their identity has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
