CINCINNATI —
The first signs of the holiday season are arriving at the Cincinnati Zoo.
The zoo installed its annual nutcracker at the entrance, with a tribute to one of its most popular residents. Advertisement
The 24-foot tall Fiona nutcracker is now up up to celebrate the holiday season.
It has 29 buttons to represent her birth weight, six slices of watermelon because she was 6-weeks premature and loves watermelon and little brother Fritz makes an appearance on her painted toenail.
The finishing touches on the Fiona nutcracker happened Thursday, when crews lifted her head onto the rest of the figure.
Fiona will be ready to greet you as you enter the zoo for the annual PNC Festival of Lights, running from Nov. 20 to Jan. 4.
