A body has been found in the search for a missing 22-year-old man, police have confirmed.

Cleveland Police has issued a statement saying that the body of a man was discovered early this morning (Thursday, November 6) in Kirkleatham woods near Redcar . It is not currently believed there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, the family of missing 22-year-old Jack Wedmore who was circulated overnight as missing from Redcar has been informed.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this very difficult time."
