DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - On Thursday, a sheriff's office in central Wisconsin announced that one of its retired K9s had unexpectedly passed away.
"You’ll Always Be Part of Our Pack, K9 Tek," the Dodge County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post began. K9 Tek had passed away on Wednesday night, deputies said.
K9 Tek served the Dodge County community for nearly six years before retiring in March 2023. Tek was a loyal partner to Lieutenant Taylor Nehls since 2017.
A dedicated career was complete with nearly 100 arrests and 314 total deployments. "Tek brought joy to countless students and residents through community demonstrations and school presentations," the Sheriff's Office stated.
"Rest easy, K9 Tek — thank you for your unwavering dedication and service," the post concluded.
