CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 27-year-old man accused of assaulting a security guard at a Cleveland apartment complex, has his trial date set for early February 2026.

Nathaniel Searight was indicted on the charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, and having weapons while under disability.

On Oct. 9, Searight pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

A pretrial date was set for Wednesday, but Searight did not appear in court.

A new pretrial date is set for Dec. 4.

The attack happened around 3 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 1000 block of Prospect Ave.

According to Cleveland police, preliminary investigation indicates Searight was involved in an argument with another person when the security guard attempted to intervene and was assaulted.
