Emergency services saw a huge surge in firework-related incidents during an evening of Bonfire Night chaos in Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police have revealed how they responded to 350 calls relating to fireworks - an increase from 203 in 2024. They also received over 2,000 emergency 999 calls throughout the evening on November 5, with over 500 officers deployed across the region to tackle incidents.
Although there were fewer anti-social behaviour incidents, dispersal orders were put in place in Bolton , Gorton and Rochdale to prevent chaos. The fire service also confirmed there were 216 incidents between 9am and 10pm, with 143 fireworks seized.
