Gray Collegiate Academy found itself in an unfamiliar position Friday at home.
The War Eagles trailed 7-0 in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs. They were losing to a Brookland-Cayce team it defeated 56-0 a month earlier. After punting on the first series, Gray Collegiate responded with nine straight scoring drives to roll 63-7 over the Bearcats.
Trevon Williamson rushed for 222 yards and scored four touchdowns. Nate Dixon had three in the second half and Royce Williamson added two scores for the War Eagles (9-2). Placekicker Weston Mims went 8-8 on PATs for Gray Collegiate Academy, which won its ninth straight game.
The game started with Brookland-Cayce’s Campbell Parsons lining a kick off a Gray Collegiate Academy player. It was recovered by a War Eagle at midfield. Quarterbac
