Norfolk State came up just short in a hard-fought contest on Saturday afternoon, falling 31-28 to North Carolina Central at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium.

Quarterback Otto Kuhns completed 18 of 26 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game due to injury. The Spartans found consistent success on the ground, led by Kevon King’s 149 rushing yards. X’Zavion Evans added 28 yards on eight carries, including a seven-yard touchdown run.

Kam’Ryn Thomas led all receivers with six catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while DreSean Kendrick recorded six receptions for 58 yards and a score. On defense, Daylan Long, Terique Miles, and Kaleb Broadbent each tallied eight tackles to pace the Spartans.
