Police have jailed drug dealers for a combined total of more than 260 years over the past six months in the West Midlands. Officers have dismantled Class A networks operating across Coventry , Birmingham and the Black Country.
Since April, the County Lines Taskforce has identified around 250 phone lines linked to illegal drug supply networks across the Midlands. Dealers typically use these lines to send mass messages to potential customers advertising the availability of drugs.
More than 125 suspects have been charged with 430 drug-related offences as part of a major crackdown in the Midlands. Nearly 50 people have been sentenced to a combined total of more than 260 years in prison for their involvement in drug dealing.
