Winter weather warnings have been issued Monday in parts of Michigan as a frigid air mass ushers cold and snow into the state, the National Weather Service said.
Forecasters are warning of winter storms in West Michigan and areas of the Upper Peninsula. Snow and wind could make traveling hazardous. Scattered power outages also are possible if snow brings down tree limbs, NWS said.
Along the Lake Michigan coast, forecasters say a Monday winter storm could lead to around 3-6 inches of accumulating snow. A winter storm warning is in effect through tonight in the Ludington area and in Benton Harbor.
The area in between, including Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Holland and South Haven, remains under a winter storm advisory through tonight.
Snow also is expected in the Upper Peninsula. Forecasters
