Armed police rushed to Birmingham city centre after a firearms incident.

West Midlands Police responded to reports of someone with a gun on Curzon Street, around 4.20pm, yesterday, Sunday, November 9.

A 19-year-old man was detained and officers seized the firearm.

Police said it was later established to be a BB gun.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of suspicion of firearms offences, and possession of a Class-A drug.
