On Sunday, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an accidental gunshot involving two juveniles, ages 12 and 14, in Tuluksak.
Investigators determined the incident occurred while the juveniles were hunting, and the firearm discharged due to improper handling of a loaded rifle.
The 14-year-old sustained a minor gunshot wound near his right elbow and was treated at the YKHC Emergency Room in Bethel, accompanied by a parent. Officials say no other injuries were reported, and the incident remains under review as a safety precaution.
Also on Sunday, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a 38-year-old man accidentally shot in Kodiak.
Investigators determined the man had placed his shotgun in the bed of his pickup truck on top of another firearm, which caused a loaded shotgun
