WASHINGTON COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - Detectives prevented a murder-for-hire plot concocted by a trio of inmates that targeted the alleged victim of one of the suspects, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

WCSO says the planned murder involved three inmates at the Washington County Jail - identified as 58-year-old Dru Hendrix, 50-year-old Mario Guaderrama, and 36-year-old Zion Unga.

An investigation found that Hendrix hired Guaderrama and Unga to kill the victim in a case in which Hendrix currently faces charges for . The WCSO says the plot was thwarted before the victim could be harmed.

Hendrix was arrested July 21 for the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a young woman in his home.
