MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A fatal Madisonville house fire is under investigation and a Monroe County detective was injured in a car crash while leaving the scene, Sheriff Tommy Jones announced.

Emergency personnel responded to a house fire at 435 Crowder Road at 4 p.m. on Monday. One man was found dead after the fire was extinguished, according to a Monroe County Sheriff's Office release.

The fire remains under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Bomb and Arson Division.

Following the incident, a detective with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office was injured in a crash on US 411 involving two vehicles. The detective was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for evaluation. Madisonville Police Chief Danny Russell said that the detective's injuries
