Residents of a Salford neighbourhood have described the moment screams were heard before police and paramedics descended onto their street after a woman was hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to Summerville Road following reports of the incident at around 4.10am this morning (November 12).
Police say a 26-year-old woman was left with serious injuries after being hit by the vehicle in what was described as a serious assault.
Officers were at the scene until around midday, with cordons in place and detectives and forensics scouring the area for evidence.
By 1pm, the street was cleared with little trace of the huge emergency scene, except for the recollections of those who call Summerville Road home. View 2 Images
