LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. —
Two people died after a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster County on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Lancaster County deputies responded to the scene near Highway 77 and Firth Road, about two miles north of Cortland, around 4 p.m.
Investigators said a westbound 2007 Buick Lucerne entered the intersection and was hit by a northbound 1993 Ford F-250 pickup truck. The collision pushed the Buick into the northwest ditch of the intersection.
The driver of the Buick, identified as 63-year-old Patrick Holley, was declared dead at the scene, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said. His wife, 63-year-old Penny Holley, was a passenger in the Buick and was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
