A teenager has been charged with mobbing and rioting offences in Edinburgh on Bonfire Night.
Officers arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy on Wednesday, November 12 with several serious offences including mobbing and rioting , after gathering evidence during the evening of November 5 and following-up on enquiries over the last week.
It is not known where the incident took place. He was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
This comes after the force announced that this year’s national policing operation saw a near 37 per cent reduction in fireworks calls, compared with last year.
However, pockets of criminality still occurred in various parts of the country, including the Sighthill area of Edinburgh.
Police Scotland have made 14 arrests i
