CARTHAGE, Mo. — Candidates are lining up to run for political office in 2026, even though the filing period for some of those offices may be months away.

Lane Roberts became the latest candidate to announce for county office. Roberts said Thursday on the Jasper County Courthouse steps in Carthage that he is seeking the office of Jasper County Presiding Commissioner. ×
