SYLACAUGA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - One person has been arrested in connection to a homicide investigation in Sylacauga.
According to Sylacauga Police, a 16-year-old was arrested in connection a shooting that killed B.B. Comer High School student D’Marcus Riggins and injured an 18-year-old on Aug. 8, 2025 in the Drew Court Community .
Police say the 16-year-old was arrested in an apartment complex on Autumn Lane in Sylacauga by the Talladega County Drug and Violent Task Force and Sylacauga Police Department Investigations Division.
The teenager has been charged with murder and assault 1st degree in connection to the shooting. The bond has been set at $250,000 for the murder charge and $50,000 for the assault 1st degree charge.
