TALLAPOOSA COUNTY, Ala. ( WSFA ) - A woman is under arrest and charged with animal cruelty involving nearly 100 cats and kittens, according to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Lisa Christine Miller, 58, of Dadeville, was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the Tallapoosa County Jail, Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said.

The ongoing investigation started on Nov. 11 when deputies responded to reports of abandoned animals at the woman’s home on Centerpoint Road.

Dozens of felines, in all age ranges, were not being taken care of, the sheriff’s office said. There were no litter boxes, food or water, and the animals had also been left outside in freezing temperatures.
