A man brandished an axe on the street as a row erupted between neighbours in Rochdale .

The incident unfolded on Dewhirst Road on Monday evening (November 17).

Eyewitnesses reported seeing police on the street last night, with a cordon reportedly put in place as officers responded.

The Manchester Evening News understands that a man brought an axe out onto the street amid a dispute between neighbours.

He was then seen waving the weapon around.

No injuries were reported, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed.
