A woman has died in South Gloucestershire.

Emergency services were called to Barnhill Road, at Hatherell's Yard market in Chipping Sodbury, at around 7.40am on Tuesday, November 18, where a woman was confirmed to have died.

The shopping centre has been closed for the rest of the day, Hatherell's Yard has confirmed.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “Police and ambulance services have attended a non-suspicious sudden death of a woman in Chipping Sodbury today (Tuesday 18 November).

“We were called to the Barnhill Road area shortly after 7.40am this morning.

“Sadly, the individual’s death was confirmed at the scene.

“The woman’s next of kin has been informed and our sympathies go out to them.
