CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A deadly crash shut down a busy road in east Charlotte on Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck happened around noon on Tuesday, Nov. 18, along Eastway Drive near Shamrock Drive.

Paramedics reported that they pronounced one person dead at the crash site. Police said the roadway would remain closed between Dunlavin Way and Kilborne Drive.

It was not immediately clear what led to the collision, and officials did not provide a timetable for when the road might reopen.
