GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids has tapped a search firm to help find the city’s next top attorney.
Mosaic Public Partners, an executive search firm based in California, was selected to lead the national search. The city hopes to hire a new finalist by May 2026, said Michelle Eddie, the city’s assistant human resources director.
The Grand Rapids City Commission unanimously approved a $32,500 contract with the firm on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Deputy City Attorney Philip Strom is currently serving as interim attorney following the retirement of Anita Hitchcock, who stepped down this fall after serving as the city attorney since 2016.
The contract with Mosaic includes a one-year service guarantee. Eddie said Mosaic has provided similar city attorney search services for San Jose, Calif.; Gilbert,
