The Trump administration is lying about its efforts to obtain comprehensive voter registration data in Oregon, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) told a federal judge in the Beaver State.

In a 17-page amicus brief filed Tuesday, the DNC argues that a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice, while stylized as a voting rights complaint, is both deceptive and legally off-base.

On Sept. 16, the DOJ sued Oregon on three counts, alleging violations of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), and the Civil Rights Act (CRA) of 1960.
