You often hear about Christmas miracles, but Hurd Farm is celebrating a Thanksgiving miracle this year.
Owner Steve Hurd wasn’t sure how he was going to be able to process more than 500 live turkeys in time for Thanksgiving after a raging fire destroyed his Hampton barn and equipment early Tuesday morning, but another local farm has stepped up to help.
Scott and Brenda Barthelemy, owners of Brookvale Pines Farm in Fremont, offered to turn their farm into a temporary turkey processing facility.
The turkeys are being transported by trailer to the farm, where the Barthelemys and workers from both farms teamed up and began working together to process the first batch of turkeys as quickly as possible Wednesday morning.
