LAKESIDE, Ore. -- A 40-year-old Coos County man was arrested last Wednesday following a reported assault in Lakeside, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.

CCSO officials said that two deputies responded to a report of an assault on Nov. 12 at about 10 a.m. The victim reported that the suspect, identified as Joshua Cantu, assaulted her with his hands and a metal pipe, sheriff’s deputies said. Authorities said the deputies initially could not locate Cantu in the immediate area but they found and arrested him later that day without any incident.

Cantu was taken to the Coos County Jail where he faces charges of second-degree assault (domestic), unlawful use of a weapon, and domestic harassment. Jail records show Cantu is in custody as of Nov. 19.
