WAVERLY, Neb. (KOLN) - Eastbound Highway 6 by Waverly was shut down Thursday afternoon due to a gas leak in the area.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said at 12:35 p.m. that deputies were assisting Waverly Fire and Rescue with traffic control as crews work. Eastbound Highway is closed from 148th Street to 162nd Street.

Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route.

According to LSO, the leak was contained by 12:45 p.m.
