ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A security guard shot a man inside an Aldi store in the City of St. Louis.

On Wednesday, around 12:30 p.m., St. Louis officers were called to the store in the 3600 block of Natural Bridge for a shooting. When they arrived, officers found a 43-year-old man who had been shot by a security guard.

According to police, the man was a known shoplifter at the store and had been banned from the store. When he entered the store on Wednesday, security asked him to leave, but the man shouted threats and pulled at something in his waistband.

The 49-year-old security guard said that when the man raised his arm from his waistband, he shot him.
