The Met Office has issued new yellow and amber weather warnings as the UK is hit with intensely cold weather . Warnings for snow and ice have been issued and extended with the wintry conditions expected to last into Friday.

A new yellow weather warning specifically for ice, lasting twelve hours was issued on Thursday. The yellow weather warning runs from midnight Friday, November 21, until midday.

Cold, wintry showers will continue to hit the UK throughout Thursday evening. The wintery showers moving East from the North Sea and expected to continue until Friday morning.
