HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall got the lone goal on a play with a bit of a bizarre look. The switch in goalkeepers paid off as well.

The goal by David de la Vibora on a free kick in the 27th minute and the work of new keeper Eijin Magota, making his first college start in a tournament setting, helped the Thundering Herd blank Cleveland State, 1-0, Thursday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

On the decisive free kick, Joao Robert took the first run at the ball, made a bluff and de la Vibora raced in and boomed a left-footed shot past the Cleveland State wall of defenders and off the left post for the goal to excite the crowd of 1,975 at Hoops Family Field/Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex.
