A German SS soldier who killed a Jewish man has been named 84 years later after a historian used artificial intelligence to discover his identity

Artificial intelligence has incredibly unmasked a man honoured as a “fallen soldier” as an evil German SS gunman seen shooting civilians in the head in an infamous Holocaust photograph.

Jakobus Onnen was identified through AI-assisted facial comparison as one of the deadly perpetrators in a chilling 1941 execution image, showing SS troops murdering innocent Jewish people. Until now his name was engraved on a war memorial.
