BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Calling all racers, both walkers and runners, there is a great way to be active this weekend and race a plane! Well, sort of.

The Run the Runway 5K begins Saturday, November 22, at 8:30 a.m. at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport. Participants can choose to run the 5K or run/walk in the 1-mile fun run.

The racecourse goes throughout different parts of the Airport’s campus, including being within 200 feet of an active runway. For the safety of participants, the racecourse is heavily barricaded with airport personnel on the course as well.

Registration is still open; you can sign up with this link or sign up in person at the BTR Airport at any time before the event.
