A former Marist College student from Westchester County has been arraigned on 16 felony charges after authorities say he secretly recorded people inside gender-neutral bathrooms on the Dutchess County campus earlier this year, prosecutors announced.

Kyle Petrozzi, 22, was indicted by a Dutchess County Grand Jury on 16 counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, all felonies, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office announced on Friday, Nov. 21.

Prosecutors say Petrozzi, who had been a senior at Marist and was set to graduate in May 2025, was expelled after the allegations surfaced.

According to Dutchess County District Attorney Anthony Parisi, the incidents happened between April 27 and May 10, 2025, inside the Dyson Center at the college's Poughkeepsie campus. Investigators allege that Petrozzi installed hidden cameras in multiple gender-neutral bathrooms, capturing footage of several victims, both male and female, without their knowledge.

Under New York State’s current bail laws, second-degree unlawful surveillance is a non-qualifying offense, meaning Petrozzi could not be held on bail. Judge Jessica Segal released him under probation supervision and ordered him to surrender his passport.
