SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A petition is calling on Scottsdale Unified School District to remove Turning Point USA from Saguaro High School.

This fall, an extension of Turning Point known as Club America was added as a club at the school, but some students have expressed concerns about the new addition.

“I had to take a step back, because just even someone thought that this should be allowed on our campus was crazy to me,” said the petition starter.

The 17-year-old junior, who didn’t want to use her name, created the petition two weeks ago. She said that she believes the club promotes “political hate” and should be removed.

“I feel like, just opens up a pathway, table to spread hate and discrimination and division under a facade of religion,” she said.
