LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville's Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is receiving more than $2 million in federal funding.
U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced TARC and Lexington's public transportation system, Transit Authority of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (Lextran), will receive a combined $8,724,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to help improve their bus maintenance facilities.
TARC will receive $2,624,000 of that funding to create a new bus brake maintenance shop, according to McConnell's office.
