Train passengers hoping to travel on four days in December are likely to face difficulties because of a fresh round of train strikes announced today.

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has announced strike action on CrossCountry next month. It claims that the company failed to resolve long-running issues on pay, staffing, and previously agreed commitments.

RMT members will be striking on the following days:

• Saturday 6 December

• Saturday 13 December

• Saturday 20 December

• Saturday 27 December
