A 6-year-old child was hit by a car and suffered serious injuries in Norwalk on Thursday, according to police.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. on Seaview Avenue.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the child on the sidewalk and began providing emergency medical care. The child was then taken to Norwalk Hospital.

According to police, the car was traveling on Seaview Avenue when the child ran across the street and was hit.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
