A knife-wielding man was shot and killed after he refused police commands in an airport terminal.
The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating the incident, which occurred at St. Louis Lambert International Airport at 1:05 a.m. on Friday.
Airport officers were conducting routine security checks in Terminal 1 when they encountered the adult male with a knife.
He was tased after he refused to drop the weapon, police said, and then was shot after he continued to advance towards officers.
He was pronounced dead on scene. No officers were injured.
The officers involved in this incident have been with STL Airport Police for 6 months and one year, respectively, both with prior law enforcement experience.
