LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A former University of Louisville basketball player that was previously arrested on DUI charges had his case dismissed this week.

On Thursday, the DUI charge against Russ Smith was dismissed, however he did enter a guilty plea to "improper driving," and he was fined.

According to his citation, a detective saw a vehicle with an expired plate making an illegal U-turn. When the detective pulled the over, they said they smelt a strong odor of alcohol coming from Smith's breath.

Smith admitted that he had "two Bourbon pours neat" before he started driving, according to the citation. Smith performed the DUI test before ultimately being taken into custody back in June.
