ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Two longtime Atlantic City Police Department officers have been promoted, and a retired officer has returned to service in a new capacity, the department announced Friday.
Officers Christopher Smith and Lauren Downey were elevated to the rank of sergeant in a ceremony recognizing their years of commitment to public safety in Atlantic City.
The department also welcomed back retired Officer Jimmy Bower, who was sworn in as a Special Law Enforcement Officer assigned to the Atlantic City Municipal Court.
Veteran officers rise through the ranks
Sergeant Christopher Smith began his career with the Atlantic City Police Department in 2007, serving in various assignments throughout his tenure.
