SALEM, Ore. - Oregon's public transportation is set for a major upgrade.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, $11.5 million is being allocated to the Oregon Department of Transportation to enhance regional transit networks in Coos, Yamhill, and Benton counties.
The funding aims to improve public transportation by acquiring and maintaining new buses, ensuring safe and reliable transit for local communities. This initiative will support Coos County Area Transportation, Yamhill County Transit Area, and Benton Area Transit.
“Strong regional transit networks allow everyone in the community to get to work, go to school, and visit loved ones in a safe and reliable way,” said U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley.
