LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The city of Laredo presented its key to the city to the family of José Antonio Mansur Galán, the late baseball team owner who bridged two nations through sport.

Mansur Galán passed away in October. Those at the ceremony spoke about his legacy as a father, grandfather and community pillar.

His son, Chara Mansur, said he will continue to honor his father’s legacy by remaining involved with the Tecos de los Dos Laredos.

“It’s really sad for me to be here, but I have a legacy to continue,” Chara Mansur said. “I will continue this project to have the Tecos de los Dos Laredos here in Laredo for a long time. I need the support of all you people, the fans of the Tecos, to be there with us.”
