LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Mental health advocates celebrate milestone: two months with no suicides in Laredo

Suicide prevention committee members partly credited the 9-8-8 “You’re Not Alone” campaign and community engagement.

So far there have been 17 suicides this year, and committee members discussed prevention efforts to bring that number down to zero.

Volunteers also would participate in mental health training in case they need to help someone experiencing a crisis.
